Health Update - Potential Hiccups

Your boy's luck ran out and I finally got Covid. Novel Corona Virus? Doesn't seem so novel to me!

I've been pretty careful, though I admit I could have been more so. I'm triple vaxxed, and have fairly consistently masked indoors, though I have eaten at some restaurants. Weirdly, what actually did me in was a distanced backyard hangout to watch, of all things, a qualifying race for the Tour De France. I went because our drummer is a big bike fan and he said it'd just be an excuse to hang out and shoot the shit, which it was! It was like a six hour video we scrubbed through and I learned all sorts of fascinating things. Like, did you know that riders urinate while they're racing? They just go to the outside lane and cropdust the beautiful European countryside? Astounding! Also, I think Lance Armstrong would take his blood out before he raced, race, and then put his blood back in. Absolutely darke gyfte shit.

I had a really good time! And like all good times, it was punished harshly. While recording with Kole on the 5th, I had a lil tickley cough, which then quickly developed into me feeling sicker than I ever have in my life. I'm approaching Malcolm Gladwell levels of coughing expertise. Pinwheel level activities, like taking out the recycling, are a dream. Attempting them sends me into coughing fits where I can't stand up. It sucks!

I'll be OK, ultimately. I've been in communication with my doctors and all, and the only thing to do is to rest. But I can't really talk, not just because I sound like undead giant blacksmith from all the coughing, but because talking causes more coughing. The cycle continues. But I need to rest and get through it.

Which obviously presents a problem when my job is to talk for all you folk. We record fairly far in advance, so there won't be any impact for a bit, but I wanted to clue everyone in that some shows might be a little delayed, or might have a guest host. We're still planning and strategizing. What I didn't want to do is keep you in the dark because you're the reason I have this dream job. I have to prioritize my health, but I'm also responsible to you. Your support is something I don't want to take for granted and while I have limited control over the speed I get better, I can provide transparency.

TLDR:

I'm real sick
But I'm not going to die or anything
Shows might be late or have guest hosts for a tiny bit
But also maybe not because no one understands this fucking thing

Thank you again and try to be careful out there! This is the "mild" version of this, in that I don't require hospitalization, and it is no fucking joke. I shudder to think what would happen if I wasn't vaxxed.
