Katakros Part 2: Cloak and Blue Gem

This is part 1 of a series of videos on how to paint Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis. This video shows how to paint his red cloak and blue gemstone.

Hi Richard. just a quick question, i know with the bone on the previous video you say it straight out of the pot, but it seems like its a lot thinner then the pot consistency, is this naturally occurring due to the wet palette. Sorry if this is a stupid question. paint consistency is something i seem to struggle with.

I like size 2 for large areas and glazing, size 1 for general painting and blending, size 00 for fine details and stippling.

Hi Richard. Im enjoying a lot the videos. I tried this technique on a Custodes cloak, but It was a mess. I think I need a better brush. I know you use Artis Opus but wich sizes should I buy and for wich techniques each size??
