Master Lazarus Armour with Scratches + NMM Gold Skull

The following paints were used:
Vallejo: Heavy Blackgreen, Ice Yellow, Black, Heavy Goldbrown, White.

Ah no, 1:4 is more like a heavy glaze. You want closer to 1:1 for layering (depending on the paint etc.) For a normal glaze it's more like 1:6. If you're getting water droplets then either your surface is too shiny, v so maybe you've been touching the model while painting? The natural oils from your shin will prevent paint adhering properly. It could also be the printed surface is just to shiny. Finally, of you are getting beading it could be that you have too much paint on your brush for glazing. You should Haku have any paint so that it dries very fast. There shouldn't be enough paint for it to flow. To solve the issue of it being too shiny you can give the model a coat of matte varnish, you can then paint over the top again.

2020-07-06 23:39:53 +0000 UTCRichard, do you mind sharing the ratio you use for the paint:water when blending? You said the wash should be 1:4 I believe, but I believe I have been trying to blend with paint that is too thinned - it is making water droplets, rather than blending smoothly. Thanks!

If I am allowed a little constructive (I hope) criticism, sometimes, when approaching the final steps of the refining process, you skip ahead to the final result. It happens in this video, and in the NMM stages of the Bloodthirster for example. Those last steps would be really interesting to see, IMO. Keep up the great work.
