We're somehow in a timeline where Youtubers make influential horror films and I'm kinda here for it between this and Skinamarink

I gotta get some more of that sweet dart!!

Loved the movie; flesh hell images stuck with me for a long time. Loved the discussion; totally agree on seeing more bullies from marginalized groups. Zoe Terakes was great at playing awful!

Fun trivia catch from my recent Saul rewatch - in the cold open when Jimmy comes over to dinner with Chuck and his wife shortly after moving to Albuquerque, he mentions that he's staying in the Beachcomber. The perfect place for young single broke guys as well as divorced dads!

You guys should check out some of the directors stuff on YouTube RackaRacka. Haven’t watched them in awhile but at peak around 2017 they did these Ronald McDonald’s skits that just turned into bloodbaths with what I remember to be very convincing effects

I really enjoyed this episode, more so than the film, in a way. Your discussion touched on a bunch of the reasons why it didn't work for me and that was interesting. As a teenager I was a total loner with social anxiety, and that's why I never went to any parties, have no experience with drugs / addicts. I always kind of wanted to and kind of didn't, and every time the "insufferable party teenagers" trope shows up in media it is so unpleasant for me that it drags the whole experience down. On the other hand, I don't have a close connection to my parents, and they're both still alive, so the entire grief angle also does not resonate with me. Finally, I just felt that the "monster" was a bit boring, the spirits were basically just regular dead people and the "imitating a loved one to manipulate you" has also been done a thousand times I feel like. Some of your ideas made me like it a bit more though, such as the fact that the rules are dumb made up things that are simply wrong, and the idea that this is just one shapeshifting/manipulative entity the entire time, this makes the lore a bit more plausible. So I guess for next month I have to watch my second Lynch movie? Mulholland Drive left me so confused.

This was the perfect Outback Steakhouse movie; no rules, just right. Also, can't wait for the sequel: Look Who's Talking 2 Me.

I was very pleased to hear reference to Aunty Donna's Coffee Cafe!
