My favorite NPC name can be found at the Volo encounter - Antinia the Goon. Runner up is probably a gnome that can be found at the Iron Throne, you know which one.

The discussion about werewolves reminded me of a campaign I ran where the players crate trained a werewolf. No moral or point to make here, just the image of the party coming home to their excited werewolf

There is a fun interaction you can get after you ascend Astarion. While controlling him, interact with a mirror and he can finally see himself again. It's short, but well acted. He's overcome with joy. Like seeing an old friend he thought was gone forever. It's sweet.

Before doing my 1st Durge run I've also gone back to check out bgs 1 &2, and plan on remaking my Ward/Tav from those in bg3 after playing Throne of Baal. I agree with Gary's feelings on the 1st game being a bit unsalted but would be very curious to hear your thoughts on Dragonspear, as that was the point when the story felt like it finally picked up. Side note: seeing Sun Soul monks being both playable and a major faction in those gave me the big smiles since that's always been my go-to class at the table.

Tip for some quick XP by the docks. Telekinesis spell works to throw steel watchers into the water for an instant kill. Arrows of Roaring Thunder also work, if they fail the save. The gloves you get from the Gith Ambush in act 2, let anyone cast telekinesis once per short rest.

If you haven’t killed Orin when you save Volo, he gives you a book written by Jon Irenicus about the Bhaalspawn giving insight on how to best them and fun notes on Irenicus which I appreciate being a fan of 2.

I am still disappointed that Volo and Elminster wont have any unique dialogue with each other since there are several parts of the game where they both can be in Camp.

3 plays through the game and I didn’t know that plague ship existed! I’ve been playing BG1 on the steam deck recently. Like 30 mins before bed. The writing is impressive but good lord the character barks are fucking AWFUL. Xzar is a crime against humanity.
