Spirit Guardians wreck the skulls; they take double damage from Radiant.

Gary and Cole I am playing catch up on this series so I’m a little behind and this comment is not in response to this episodes but two quick things as I am also doing a dark urge playthrough and a redeemed dark urge on honor. 1. Shovel is the best lil girl/guy and as a Dragonborn you can convince them you are a dragon and teach them how to be one in a funny cute cutscene that I think you guys would enjoy. 2. When I raided the grove and took out the goblins unless Gary did something to make everyone leave the gobs find the kids hideout and they are all dead down there and the goblins responsible are now dead because I decided to treat dark urge as a sometimes asshole serial killer. So I’m still empathetic to slave characters and tend to let them go and I don’t go after children, and will punish those who do. Aribella was an exception because I did not kill her and was instead caused indirectly by looking around the room (plausible deniability)

I was so angry by the end of the Oscar quest, I gave that mother fucker 300 gold coins when I barely had anything and act one. What does he do? Kids drunk the whole way up all this gate, gets possessed and I save his ass again only to get what? A $30 painting, i wanted to kill him so bad.

Two comments on this episode: The interface for controllers has one giant Achilles heel: the selection radials just plop each possible new action in the first open slot. Every time you level up or respec you've got at least fifteen minutes of manually sorting your radials onto something that makes sense. Also if you their something that returns to your hand re-adds those weapon actions and screws up your layout. When adding an action for casters, there's no visual distinction between spells you only know and those you've prepared, so you have to remember what's ready or you just wasted your time adding something you can't use. Also re: being able to smooch everyone, as a queer person who lives in San Francisco, the Messy Bisexual Polycule Road Trip has been LONG overdue for representation and I feel so seen.

I played as a Githyanki Tav my first playthrough and finally at the end of Oskar's quest, he presented me a painting of Lae'Zel. I know it was a bug, but it felt like I'd done all that work and this asshole couldn't even tell us apart. Also, I think getting a painting of Astarion could have been a sweet gift given how upset he was being unable to use mirrors.

Kerr

And I should note, this is all just my read. I couldn't stand him and couldn't help but read the worst intentions into everything he did.

Kole’s issue with not remembering who the fuck anyone is/what they are up to is something I’ve definitely struggled with the more I get into CRPGs. Another pretty big difference between C and J RPGS. JRPGs expect you to have the memory of a toddler. CRPGs expect you to have the perfect recall of Marilu Henner.

Oh, good to know the wandering near the house and entering turn based stuff as as bug. I had no clue what the fuck was happening. And I avoided the house every subsequent playthrough.

I don't think Oskar has good intentions at all. He's a self-absorbed twat. He brings back Kerri from the dead with zero empathy or respect for her situation. Does she want to return? How will she react? He just wants to summon his old flame back to assuage his guilt. He treats the reveal that she's depressed with joy, "Oh, it's not me!" He wants Lady Jannath to coddle him as well. Just treat all this emotional labor and damage he's heaping on the women in his life as his due. Oskar fucking sucks and he should go suck rocks in the middle of the harbor. Mechanically, this quest sucks too. Those skulls bug out frequently, there are too many poltergeists, the fights are tedious, the way multiple floors interact with skulls/poltergeists is rough.

In an upcoming episode, we talk about more Added Hag Evidence! -GB

A way things can resolve that I enjoyed in my first playthrough with the Hag Support Group and Mayrina - I had decided to let Mayrina make her own choices and let her keep the wand in Act One and she left with her undead husband. In Act Three she still has him, and still acts as though there's a chance to fully bring him back, but talking to her after defeating Ethel again allows Mayrina to come to terms with her husband's death and break the wand herself.

I’ve done 5 runs of BG3 and still haven’t ever finished Oskar’s quest. It’s just so ass.

The Ethel fight is ridiculous on Honour Mode. The best way to do it is sneak into her lair through the shortcut and position your party members in between all the distant shrooms cause they regenerate really quickly. Her legendary actions I think is that she’ll just make more clones of herself which is annoying but not as big deal as some other bosses. Having a multiclassed Minsc as a Colossus Slayer Ranger, Barbarian and Fighter really helped. I will say, I was kinda bummed that this Hag turned out to be Ethel as I was hoping we’d run into her conspirator whom she’s been in contact with in Act 1. But Ethel is great so it’s all good.

That quest couldve been better but I enjoyed the various characters you meet.
