i havent finished watching yet but i have to say, watching the kitties get hurt or die is WAAAAAAY harder than seeing actual people get hurt or die in these dramas (and honestly the serial killers/psychopaths tend to be my favorite characters in the show. psychopath ba reum?? love him, but seeing him kill a kitty HURTS). maybe because i have cats but something about seeing animals in dramas/movies get hurt (particularly cats for me, but honestly all of them) is way harder to deal with than seeing people get hurt. almost as if its harder to separate that it's fictional with the animals. i am very glad for the blurring of animal death in korean shows though, i have to say. i just know if it was a western show from the USA where i'm from we'd be seeing it in all its graphic detail and i just do not want nor need to see that.
