The young version of Melody Pond didn't have the president's private phone number. The spacesuit which she was put in, however, had an alien communication device that contacted the highest authority. She used it, and it automatically found the president's contact - the highest there is.

2020-06-16 06:50:31 +0000 UTCAgree 100% with the prequel for the Curs Of The Black Spot being a totally different tone to the episode which I thought was a disappointing romp. I personally wish they had stuck with the under siege theme from mysterious alien predator and played it more seriously like the prequel.
