Some great points. When the wehrmacht rolled into France it was based in a large part what the French had learned from the first WWI. They build the Maginot line. The Germans knew that the French felt it was the only way the Germans could invade France. However the did not and went in via Ardennes in June of ‘40.
History can teach us much but we need to look at situations with “ new eyes “ and see if there is a better way than we have always done things.
In my view we learn form failure and success. Both however need to be looked at. It worked is it the best way though ? Failure is a pos Mortem lessons learned
