I have not heard ammo need oxygen, could you elaborate please, because I need to know if the Australian Ammo I have that came vacuum sealed is a good idea to keep long term.

2020-08-10 19:42:16 +0000 UTCI haven’t done it in years as I learned ammo isn’t nearly as finicky as it’s made out to be. But figured I’d mention my past experience. These days I just leave it in the factory boxes and in a safe till it’s needed. Not really air tight or dehumidified or anything. Just don’t dunk it in water and you will be good to go. Also to note, if ammo was as prone to problems with moisture it is made out to be, think about your carry ammo. For me, my handgun gets surface rust on the pins and worn areas after a week of carrying, sweaty guy and very humid here, and any time I cycle my carry ammo it always goes bang. I’d think if moisture kills ammo as bad as it’s made out to be, then carry ammo would have to be changed out daily.
