A viable and active 3rd party would be nice to have. Parties other than the Rs and Ds already exist. They have limited support and exposure. And sometimes parts of their platform are off putting to the moderate voter. Ron Paul has had some people on board with the libertarian message, then he goes a bit sideways and loses support.
Our best bet at this point is to focus locally in November. Regardless of what person sits in the White House, they have very little impact on my daily life. But the governor of WA is making decisions, at this very moment, that have a great effect on me daily. I think if we want to see change, and quickly, we had better start paying attention to who we vote for in local elections.
