If I'm a "bad guy" in the dark....aim for the light !
I live out in the country and on the rare occasion I need to go out at night to "see what the noise is" the pistol gets carried and my left hand has the light held out away from me to my left.

I'm good with a pistol, not so good with a rifle. I've noticed with shooters is they over compensate according to their hand. For example if a right handed shooter pulls a pistol to the fire position instinctively (don't fire check your sights) you tend to over compensate to the right a bit. Accordingly left handed shooters tend to center to the left.
Before anyone replies, yes practice will fix that muscle memory.
Good vid ! Guess I gotta practice more with the long gun.

My husband and son have flashlights on theirs also. My husband has one that flashes which is blinding to the perpetrator.
