yeah, a tragedy of the vinsmokes is judge's self-subjugation to a power hierarchy that demands some loss of humanity, even to the point judge thought making his kids less feeling would make them stronger in the terms of that power. despite their privileged position and relative strength, before they were born the sons still were forced to age in the confines of a dehumanizing power. something made all the more clear by contrast when luffy pushes sanji to "tell me how you really feel!", then affirms sanji telling him "of course!! because that's who you are!!!"

2025-10-12 14:51:43 +0000 UTCFuck sanjis brothers for what they've done and they dont deserve sympathy for what's happening to them but I truly feel sorry for them. Their father stole their humanity from them, they will never experience being human. They cant even feel anything in the face of them and their families death. we see how sweet sanji turned out just from being normal and having a loving parent. Its very tragic to me.
