"Sunken pirate ship" Sans!

I went through a couple of different ideas while drawing this; at first I caked a thick layer of moss and barnacles on his bones- I had an idea to put big barnacles on his head that would look like horns- it started getting a little too wild so I started over with something simpler...

How about a squid living in Sans' head! above water, perhaps ink from the squid could leak from his eyes like some kind of edgy boy.

This version of sans I based off of pirate flags! His red bone sword represents "no mercy" and "Torment & eventual death"

Steve Bonnet the "Gentleman Pirate" has a flag with a skull between a heart and a dagger; The meaning is pretty straight forward, representing life and death. I tried to make Sans as the skull, and put the heart and dagger on his hands <:Dc

He's not incredibly unique, but every pirate flag I saw was pretty straight forward so I made him as such as well!

There's just a touch of story to his conditions, I imagine... Maybe he was in the middle of a battle over a load of treasures, and a canonball blasted half his skull away; making a perfect home for this new slimy resident <3

There he lays, at the bottom of the sea, chillin on his pile of treasure.

PS: just as a nice visual detail, I imagine that maybe when he's standing upright and above water, maybe his white belt sash rests on his sides and replicate those classic sans shorts. idk!
