⚖️Cannibal October⚖️ "Sanzu" 45 pgs

In celebrating the month of October, I'm continuing this train of discarded drafts/attempts on the long road to developing Cannibal October!
Hello again! This 2018 version of "Cannibal October" was once called "Sanzu." This version was pretty grim, gorey and supernatural. If I remember right, the MC had a kind of deadly power, and a creepy "death incarnate" figure was following him around for reasons related to it. This "death incarnate" figure would have been (Buck) Tagen, who will still have a presence in Cannibal!
I also noticed O'Shea showing up near the end, who seemed to have been a traveler of some kind. He will also be in Cannibal as something of a pirate...!
Gosh, look how much more gritty the MC is here!
Looking back at my artwork here, I can tell just how stiff I was. I think my storytelling and flow suffered greatly because of it. Every time I made a new rendition of this comic, I needed it to be "THE ONE." Learning how to be comfortable with comic art was probably one of the biggest lessons I've learned.

Your perspective is very interesting- I don't know if I'm hyper critical of my own work or not; to me this version was pretty hard to follow. I was also confused at a few points over why the MC would say he's the "only one" or what exactly had happened to the elderly couple. My thought was that they had died being in proximity to the MC over some sort of unspoken deadly power, but that leaves me wondering why the man at the end of the comic was unharmed xD? I agree with you in the silent storytelling! I think it's a great way to make an impact if done correctly, unfortunately I think 2018 Melikas wasn't clear enough in what she was trying to convey. LMAO! Definitely one thing I could have benefitted from at the time was if I had written down a story to follow, or at least some kind of bulletpoint timeline...! 2024-10-23 04:50:56 +0000 UTCAh, he seems to have a bit of an insanity streak going here is the impression I got at first, until the face showed up and then I jolted a little XD It took me a moment but I was stunned when the couple died, either he or death killed them or maybe they weren't alive to begin with? Sanzu saying he thought he was the only one from meeting O'Shea at the end though makes me think hallucinations or maybe death didn't feel like killing him? This is definitely more gritty in the way of human bodies and feels more of a survival in enemy lands take compared to the previous drafts. Ngl I kind of died a little at the catapulting of bodies... like that's one way to dispose of corpses I guess, a very messed up way but still! And this is stiff? ...I actually think the flow of the character movement is really good lol Totally understand that "THE ONE" perfectionism and urge to get the story out, bet it was a bit tiring on occasion too but from what I'm seeing you made several wonderful and fun AUs for your work XD The choice you made in this too to be mostly silent really made a powerful impact when Sanzu finally spoke, you definitely had good storytelling and flow going in my opinion
