Ilayaraja, similar to SPB has contributed in a greatway to both Tamil and Telugu industries.. OSR can pick examples from any language. Vikram, it would have been better if you had given some of the Tamil examples than just making fun of others.. Ilaiyaraaja has won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the Tamil film Sindhu Bhairavi (1986) and the Telugu films Rudraveena (1989) and Saagara Sangamam (1984).. 2021-02-24 02:04:08 +0000 UTCBecause you asked, the correct pronunciation for Ilayaraja is IL-EYE-UH-ra-ja, where the L is pronounced like the "rl" in curl, girl, world etc. If you can't pronounce the L the right way, that's ok. You could still approximate as the English /L/ sound.

You guys would know what I am talking about too once you listen to some of his Telugu movie songs from the 80s and 90s some of the melodies are unforgettable till date. When you get a chance for instance try to listen to music from his Telugu Movie Geetanjali (1989) where all the songs are amazing some of his other good movies out of a million include Sagara Sangamam, Dalapathi, Shiva, Killer, etc.
