An important note

Hey y'all, I've got some big plans for the channel this month. Tomorrow I'm shooting a video about the Norse exploration of America to commemorate Leif Erikson Day (October 9th). Your support in September allowed me to purchase some awesome Viking costumes for that, so thank you!

And in the lead up to Halloween I'll be making videos about New Orleans ghost stories and folklore, as well as a fun video about cannibalism in the American West.

I'm also on a bit of a World War 2 kick right now, and I've been reading some fascinating newly published books about two things in particular - the American influence on Nazi racial laws, and the history of crackpot Nazi archaeology/occultism. 

I'm going to make videos about both. Obviously Nazi Germany is one of the most dour and depressing topics in world history, and to lighten the mood, I'm breaking up the educational bits to camera with related skits that will be heavily inspired by Monty Python's "Mr. Hilter" sketch - where Hitler has inexplicably survived the war and is running for the city council of a rural English town. It's hilarious and I highly recommend watching it to see what I'm going for.

To make it work, I bought some Nazi uniforms to be worn by actors in the skits. Since you guys might – very understandably – be kinda weirded out by your Patreon donations going to something like that, I used my own money. 

I also diligently ensured that I was purchasing these items from reenactment sutlers and not vendors with white supremacist sympathies (many of these WW2 sutlers actually have conspicuous disclaimers on their websites disavowing Nazism).

I just wanted to make it clear ahead of time, so you don't watch the videos thinking, "what the hell, this is what my money is going toward?" Rest assured, even though the skits will be darkly comical, the intention here is to belittle this stupid ideology and everything it stands for.

And I also hope it's clear, based on the sorts of topics that I often tackle on my channel, that I am a sworn enemy of white supremacy in any form it might take.
