I had just the biggest smile on my face...
Added 2024-09-20 06:09:57 +0000 UTC...when I got to photograph these beautiful guys today (first time seeing bison irl). I just happened to spot them on the side of the road when I was driving through a nature preserve looking for a place to film part of the Native American ecology video.
I feel so privileged to be able to watch and share space with these amazing beings, and so wrathfully furious that people came to these plains and murdered them by the tens of millions so they could steal other people's land.
Fuck you, Sherman, I hope you rot in hell.

2024-09-21 02:42:15 +0000 UTCBack when I lived in South Dakota I used to go out to the Badlands nature reserves just to sit on a mound and watch the buffalo herds from afar as they go about their business. They’re so majestic, I wish more were around but I’m so very glad they’re still here, the world would be a lesser place if they weren’t.
