This scan from Mary Gilliatt's The Decorating Book from 1983 is a nifty guide to dated curtian terminology. One design element from the 80s I predict (after years of scouring through design books from then and now) will come back in the 2010s is the wooden curtain ring. Why? Because if HGTV's Fixer Upper has taught us anything, it's that "rustic" is totally in (at least with people over 30), and it's here to say. Hell, look through Texas real estate listings. It's a total phenomenon.
