Some Details
Well, another month with surgery and recovery, though fortunately I felt well enough quickly enough that I also got some work done on the game, too!
I finally got around to adding the necessary bits to the Blender extensions to be able to declare objects as being interactable, as well as the collision and UI logic to let the user know about it. As with Kandria, the actual dialogue is written with Speechless, which is really handy to write scripts in.

There's now a nice volumetric lighting effect that works without expensive raytracing methods. Of course, this also means it's fake and not quite right, but it looks really good for how easy it was to implement.

I reworked the way splatmaps work in Weiss entirely, and it now works as it should. It's actually a lot of fun to go around and paint the entire terrain:
I also recorded a longer video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXR3ZOblqI8
There's also been a bunch of noodling around with other Trial features to add more post processing effects, fix some weirdo driver incompatibilities with AMD (it's always AMD), and other small bits here and there in the ecosystem as is always the case.
We're moving towards the end of the year now, and I think next month I'll do a big year-end roundup of all the progress that's happened this year. It's always really hard for me to understand everything that's happened over a longer period of time, and I start to feel like I've done nothing, so doing a roundup is also very valuable for me to do. Hope to see you then!
