Wow what a week!

Japan has set restrictions to travellers from Europe now, requiring them to adhere to a 2-week quarantine if they enter the country. Several of my friends have now had to cancel their upcoming trips to Japan because of this - if you do have an upcoming trip in the works I would now suggest that you try to postpone it to a much later date, I don't see the travel restrictions clearing up any time soon unfortunately.
You might have noticed that many YouTubers in Japan are just carrying on as usual, sightseeing and sharing foods with friends. In the comments people are guessing that the videos are pre-filmed from a month back when things were more normal - but actually the Japanese government hasn't suggested that anyone try to stay home, so things are pretty much the same as usual here! Scary stuff. π
The only things that have been cancelled are the city-run cherry blossom festivals, but that hasn't stopped crowds from gathering in the parks for their own cherry blossom parties with friends. It's been announced that schools and theme parks will be opening back up in April. Honestly I'm disappointed that people aren't making an effort to contain the spread of the virus here, you'd think with the rest of the world basically under strict quarantine that they'd incorporate some of those ideas here :/ What do you guys think about how Japan is handling this?
What's it like where you guys are living?
I've been passing the time playing Animal Crossing, and trying to think up videos I can film from home. A little bummed because I had some animal-crossing themed videos I wanted to film in Tokyo, but those are on hold for now. Soooo much is different now here, as it is everywhere else... Calgary and basically all of Canada as you probably have heard, has been asked if not told to just stay home, social distancing etc ... So in the long run I hope we ARE over-reacting and nothing of substance happens here and we look back at it and think wtf, but we'll see. Until it's done though, I'm working from home and playing Animal Crossing A LOT lol
