Ms Johnson is too smart to be this "careless" without a scheme in mind. Though could you imagine this scenario. Ms Johnson gets shrunk and it turns out the Mom from her first appearance is behind it all to get back for what happened to her son. highly unliky but what a throw back ending that would be.

Unless this is a remorse split decision. Ms johnson wouldnt know this so the threat is real to her. Second option is Ms Johnsom planned for this and its a final test to see if she can be trusted and the phrase "say good bye to your friend" from last update hits hard. The gun could of had limited power and then this wouldnt bode well for Nadia.
