Necropotence

I'm working on a series of Magic: the Gathering cards repurposed as D&D spells.

Some notes on this one:

* One new experiment I tried with this spell is making it both a necromancy and enchantment spell.

* While "a corpse" is a cheesable material component that allows "bag of rats" tricks, at least it consumes some action economy, especially with the recency of death requirement.

* Alternatively, I considered requiring a 1000 gp obsidian stone, but I've grown less fond of expensive material components since they just stand as a GM gateway.

* I considered having the target be the corpse and having the effect centered on the corpse location, which restricts the usability of the spell, but has some cool thematic impact.

Comments and feedback welcome!

How about either "corpse of a recently-living creature with at least X hit dice" (to keep with the rest of the hit dice mechanics, maybe even keying duration or radius on the hit dice of the kill), or "a recently living creature, killed by you within the last X rounds (to more specifically anchor to the caster's action economy - you could make it a reaction following a killing blow, but then one couldn't feed off of an opportunity kill) Where "recently living" could mean something like "not undead or a construct"
