Happy 8;11 Anniversary Day 💐💙🦭

Hello y'all!

The past week or so I've scanned over 200 sketchbook drawings for all things 811. If you haven't seen my last post (go check it out 😉), I talked about selling old art and finding neat little notes/old concepts. My scanner isn't perfect, as you can see the green dots on pages, but it gets the job done. hahahahahaha. And some asked for little chapter 2 secrets, seeing that the project is cancelled until further notice. Let's dive in!

1. Tickling Vittorino comic. ~2022/3. Super cute.

2. You might've seen this character a few times: Azar, the owl! 🦉 (among other sketches)

So, 811 fans might know of reoccurring owl themes and the occasional, rare, sketch I draw of them. Code named Azar, there is another angel among the same ranks as Beetle! This angel has an owl head and mimics their movements, but shows no (true) angel form in the first chapter. She was planned to arrive in chapter two, and is someone's guardian angel. I never really got a good grip on her design, and secretly, I am still waiting to see her in a dream like I did with Beetle and use that dream design:)

Also included are other chapter two memories/extra content. Leon and Ryker memory about birthday presents, and Susan talking about her love for Juliek (notice the orange sun in the background, very subtle Dubuk, hahahahah).

3.😈Evil Ryker

(Gives myself room to kindheartedly laugh at my old cringeness). Extremely old sketches, possibly around 2018-19. The spelling of "evil!ryker" really dates this. I made AUs for my own characters, including Vittorino and Ryker swaps. Sometimes you gotta be your own fanbase and create aus for enjoyment, hahaha. Page also has the first rough drafts for the first French church, which, honestly I love this! I wish the building looked like this, maybe just minus the 666 shit hahahahah. Also crazy to see older Ryker variations.

4. "I killed Dante"

Both sketchbook pages below have Vittorino's iconic scene of telling Gabriel he assisted in the death of Dante. These sketches are years apart, and yet are worded the exact same. Made me laugh finding these; and how strong the idea was for me. This dialogue for the final cut of the game was incredibly awkward to write out, just to let the people know. I've never liked how it's said, but it is what it is.

Some extra lost content stuff as well. Would love to bring the crazy room designs back if I had the energy.

5. Chapter 2 mini games and scenes. Below was a planned cooking minigame and argument between Juliek and Ryker [yes, that is Juliek calling Leon a bitch, hahahah]. Cooking minigames are extremely difficult to wrap my head around [to implement into a game], and there was supposed to be one in the first chapter too. I gave up after numerous attempts, but I'm sure some assets were accidentally left in the game files.

In chapter 2, Ryker and Accardi go back to Juliek's house and bigger bonds are formed. Ryker and Accardi bake a cake, but one way or another Ryker is accidentally hit on the back of the head and then another dream sequence was to start.

6. EXTREMELY OUTDATED AND TOSSED CONCEPTS!!!!!

So sorry for Accardi looking so white here. Ugh. Embarrassing! Anyways, way before the demo was even made; there were THREE disastrous fires in separated scenes. Maybe I thought fire was cool? Originally there were huge fires in the Leon death scene, sometime when you go to Accardi's house, and in the final act at the Basilica. The last two were removed early on in development.

Another extremely old concept was that Vittorino formed a third eye on his forehead; whether after reading the bible or just some random quirk he had. Can't remember much about it, as I quickly gave up the idea. Makes me chuckle seeing it now, and ultimately glad it's gone.

7. Leon and Ryker ch.2 confrontations. 2022 vs 2019? maybe 2018.

I've drawn this subject a billion times, traditionally and digitally. One way or another, I've always wanted Ryker to confront Leon and if his death was a suicide, planned, a freak accident, whatever. Maybe it was a way for me to vent about loss and grief.

You can see the differences in ideas. The bottom one toyed around with the idea that Leon could shapeshift and look like Ryker's Rosso Cadere friends. I removed this concept, of a shapeshifting Leon, because it seemed unnecessary and given to Dante. Instead of shapeshifting as different people, I like to think maybe Leon would just shapeshift and alter himself from different moments in his life. Young, middle aged, after he shot his father, etc.

Only Dante and Leon shift, but not as other rosso cadere residents because........erm. Well. I don't know. But it's cooler (in my opinion) if Dante can mock and look like Leon, whereas Leon is stuck being himself. The worst, and scariest thing for the poor guy.

Thanks again everyone! I appreciate all the support (and criticisms!) I've received over the years of 811 being released. And made! I hope to continue to write stories, even if 811's future seems so muddied and lost. I've had my 811 ocs for so long, we've both grown in so many ways, so don't worry as I'll still feed and water them everyday hahahah. I'll try to find the best method to posting all old scanned 811 art, just be patient with me as there's SO MANY to collect. Here's to another year! Thanks 811, for the friends you've brought me and the life lessons you've taught me.
