One of the most requested reviews on this channel is finally here. It's the Chinese x58 motherboard!
But first... What am I drinking???
Tonight we have the Steel Bridge Porter from Widmer Brothers (Portland, OR). Honestly, this is likely the first beer I've had on an episode that I didn't particularly like. The coffee almost had a burnt roast taste, and just wasn't doing it for me this night.
I ordered this nameless x58 motherboard on eBay for $103, and delivery took nearly 4 weeks. To I decided to test it with the best CPU available for the platform, so I sourced an x5690 from eBay for $125. 8GB of DDR3 ECC 1866MHz memory finish this out.
Rather than testing the board as a standalone option, I wasnted to know if buying this made sense in 2018, so we're testing it against a modern AMD Ryzen 5 2400G, with 8GB of DDR4 3000MHz, and an MSI Gaming Pro B350M motherboard.
The results were... surprising.
