6-Cores for $8... but should you buy one?

Yeah, you read that right. 6 Six Cores and 12 Threads for $8. I'm taking a look at two CPUs for a rare platform today. There's the E5-2470 8c/16t, and the E5-2420v2, both for the Intel LGA 1356 socket. But can they possibly be any good?

But first... What am I drinking???

Today it's a two-fer of Session IPAs. Harpoon Brewing's Rec League is a 3.8%, 120cal Hazy IPA. Surprisingly tropical on the nose and all of the flavor you're looking for in a hazy. Fantastic. Swinging the pendulum back to the NW/Dank IPA flavors is Overdub IPD from Ft. George. 4.5% with a rich and heavy-bodied IPA kick. Two very surprising brews that blew away my expectations.
