Stone Ocean x Lisa Frank Print

AKA: my magnum opus

another print for animenyc babeyyyyy!!! i don't quite remember when or even why i wanted to do a stone ocean/lisa frank print but i guess i thought it'd be fun! and it was...kinda.....

for the first sketch (in yellow), i was still figuring out where i wanted everything to be, i feel like this one was more busy than i would've liked, which isn't unusual for lisa frank, but i wanted to keep it pretty simple. i still like how i stylized jolyne in this sketch. lisa frank?? ehhhhh kinda. 90s doll mascot?? now we're talking

the pink sketch was when i was trying to figure out how to summon my inner rainbow lisa frank goddess. her bangs specifically were inspired by 'Glamour Girl', one of lisa franks characters. i ended up kinda keeping the look and bringing it to the final.

the final sketch was the composition i ended up sticking with. emporio was originally gonna be riding on the dolphin, and that was the plan, up until i actually started coloring the final. i honestly just couldn't fit it in to the final without him looking awkward(and me being sad while looking up refs : ( ), so i scrapped it.

figuring out the colors was actually really fun! it was a bit of a struggle since i had to work in cmyk, but i'm satisfied with how i managed to work around it. i'm pretty sure i ruined my eyes with how much lisa frank art i had to stare at for hours, but it was worth it because the end result is honestly so satisfying to look at! i'm sure it'll be even better when i get the physical version cause it's gonna be *~h o l o g r a p h i c~*. i might make some jojo/lisa frank sticker sheets since that seems like it could be a lot of fun!!

or at the very least i'll give out one free lisa frank sticker with one purchase of this print LOL
