Please just let them watch without giving hints. They'll figure it out on their own. Let them watch the show with fresh eyes.

I also like the parallel between Lee and Zuko. When Ursa (Zuko’s mum) told him to never forget who he is, she wasn’t alluding to his birth right. She wanted him to be someone who always try even when things are hard. When Zuko gave Lee the knife, it was an encouragement to not give up even though his brother is likely dead and his dad will be away. But Lee thought Zuko wanted him to literally fight the bullies. Zuko had such maturity when he gave Lee the knife, but yet he couldn’t understand what his mum want to impart to him.

I like how “Zuko Alone” has a double meaning, not only is he alone in this episode but after his mum’s disappearance, he was alone in the palace as well. This journey alone must have given Zuko a lot of insights as to how fucked up the occupation is. The Earth Kingdom citizens hate them, and the show didn’t shy away from depicting a realistic reaction from the boy and his mum. Zuko also finds out how the Fire Nation treats their POW; horrible.

We usually go over the episodes again and I know I see it a few times just when editing lol - John

I just watched, and I think you both should rewatch the part with Ozai talking to Azulan again. It's really important what Ozai asks for, and the answer that he is given. Also, you might want to consider pausing just to make sure you catch everything! I love this episode (still not in my top 5 if you can believe it), so definitely watch it again. A TON of info is given.

I didn’t have any problems watching, love this episode though. I think it was a bold move to do a totally Zuko centered episode immediately after they introduce toph, and it paid off for sure cuz this one slaps
