2021-08-09 04:57:54 +0000 UTCI love the parallel between Katara and her dad, and Zuko with his dad. Katara and her dad had a heart-to-heart closure on him leaving the water tribe. He comforted her and reassured her that he missed them when he was away. You can see that's what Katara had needed from him. Zuko's and Ozai's reunion, on the other hand, had none of that warmth despite not seeing each other for 2-3 years. All Ozai did was acknowledging his son when he deemed them to be useful. He only "loved" Zuko when he had done something right in his eyes. It's sad because all Zuko wanted was his father's love.
