Eve's "thing" is that she is very perceptive and adapts her behavior to please people. That comes from living her life as an object that was created for Adam. Her true motivation to come back to earth is to find happiness and her perception on how to achieve that at first is to reconnect with Lucifer, the version of Luci she knows from the Garden of Eden. As it's the case for all the characters in the show, Eve will evolve with time but not without bumps along the way. She's there beyond season 4.
