Attack On Titan 3x21 REACTION!! "Attack Titan"

I always assumed Grisha must have gotten his memories back slowly as he seems to have written about a lot of this stuff in his books. Otherwise we have to assume Eren is seeing all these memories that even his father didn't know about. Which I guess could be possible. I don't think Kruger necessarily said any of that for the purpose of helping someone down the road. At least not intentionally. I think he was genuinely confused himself as to why he said that stuff about kids he doesn't know.

Removed my other comment because I misread your comment, but yeah he probably did lose the memories of talking to the owl if he inherited the attack titan right after the talk. That would mean the talk they had was for the benefit of somebody else inheriting the attack titan memories down the line (as Kruger mentioned). But he definitely faked not remembering who he was or where he came from.

Grisha never lost his memories, he only faked losing them. The only time you lose the memories is when the founding titan uses its power to wipe your memory or right after you transformed from being a pure titan into one of the 9 shifters.

These are the titans that we have met so far from the "Nine Titans" : Eren has two of them - Founding titan and Attack titan, Armored, Collosal, Female, Ymir's titan, Beast and the four legged one that was with the Beast. So there is only one of them that we don't know. Historia whatsoever doesn't have any powers. She just recieved memories when she touched Ymir's letter, because as they said in the show, every subject of Ymir aka Eldian is connected through coordinate and even memories can be passed through it.

I recommend going back and watching Ymir’s back story in season 2 on why she was turned into a pure titan. Things will make a lot more sense for that character

The power to control titans and erase memories come from the Founding Titan, which is one of the nine. This titan was being passed down through the Reisse family. In order to use the power of the titan one must have royal blood or come into contact with a titan with royal blood. So this means that Eren has two titan in him, the Attack and the Founding.
