I think there are plenty of other things they can react to without needing the CSM manga. Manga reads don’t tend to get all that many views anyway unless the reactor already has loads of traction.

It would be additional content for you guys and you wouldn't have to wait a year or so for the next season. I believe you can pick up on Chapter 39 to continue the story. Side note, if you guys need help looking for another show, I recommend Samurai Champloo in english as the english is awesome and it's the type of show you both would love.
