2023-06-30 05:46:43 +0000 UTCThis was skipped over in the anime but was explicitly explained in this manga chapter (and you're gonna get this comment from multiple people on YT): In DS, people are said to have two limits: a stamina limit and a life limit. If you approach your stamina limit, it will become painful to move your body; if you go past your life limit, you die. Under certain conditions, one can surpass their stamina limit while ignoring critical wounds, but will start burning through their life. Tanjiro removed his stamina limit and was approaching his life limit. He hadn't taken a single breath since he said, "Fine. Enough, then," and attacked Daki. If his sister hadn't told him to breathe and he had finished the attack, then he would have gone past his life limit and died.
