Tanjiro was told by the master to kill one of the moons and then maybe his voice would hold weight among the Hashiras. Also I wouldn't fully give Tanjiro the kill on upper 6th tengen carried him through it but Tanjiro did manage to slice his head off.

2023-08-19 18:27:16 +0000 UTCYeah so just to fully clarify the inherited memory thing: Tanjiro is seeing the memories of his ancestor, which is the guy that looks just like Tanjiro but with a short ponytail and no scar on his forehead (his name is Sumiyoshi). Sumiyoshi and the slayer who almost killed Muzan lived over 300 years ago, and Sumiyoshi and his wife were friends with that slayer but they are not related. The mechanical doll in episode 2 was modeled after that slayer, and we now know that he also had a black sword that turned red during battle. Since Tanjiro uses the same breathing technique as that slayer and has the same earrings, even though they are not related, I think it's implied that the technique (in the form of the Hinokami dance that Tanjiro's father taught him) and the earrings were passed down through Sumiyoshi's family so the technique wouldn't be lost, since the slayer had no heirs (mentioned in the first inherited memory when Tanjiro woke up in E1).

2023-08-19 17:28:18 +0000 UTCHer sword is actually real too its from India. It wasnt used too much in battle (if at all) but more so for crowd control.
