2023-04-16 03:44:33 +0000 UTCJohn is right, Vinland Saga is not just about the Vikings' perspectives, but we see a lot of stories/situations of people on the other side as well. The author of the series set the theme as human violence first because he hates it and wanted to show how horrible it is (but also how complex our world is), and then he picked up the Vikings to show it. So the Vikings are actually not the main theme. That being said, the author spent a massive amount of time studying the history and culture of the Vikings and other communities like English, so we can still enjoy the Viking part.
