2023-11-20 23:39:19 +0000 UTCThis entire show blurred the lines of comedy and real motives so much that Im finding serious things funny and perhaps funny moments as cringe. And ultimately, the feel-good ending as undeserved. This was one of the shows I didn't know anything about- and watched all the way for the first time with you guys. What started as a parody of superpower stereotypes sure did end pretty typically for a shounen. Just like Saitama is too bored to actually be on screen fighting, Mob is still too cowardly to use his powers, and he still hasn't conquered any character conflict. So much fake tension, even in the finale. Like how much of Mob do we conflate with "Shigeo"? I'd argue Shigeo is all we've been watching because Mob in isolation is so passive we don't expect him to have any motives shallower then attracting a girl in class or something. I literally feel like I don't know who Mob is. After 3 seasons. That's a problem. He's as likely to quit and live the simple life now as he is to continue controlling the power inside him. Nothing's been established.
