The Jomsviking are allies not subjects. They'll give Canute respect as hes the most powerful in the North Sea but they're still allies and a warrior cult pretty much. I kinda agree canute does let some stuff go but I just think he doesnt give a fuck as long as the goal is accomplished hes fine without getting all the pageantry of being a king.
