Even besides Thorfinns philosophy of not fighting the bets were made they already pooled that shit in the helmet, thorfinn asking for them to reset the whole bet might be a bit much imo.

2023-09-13 05:04:05 +0000 UTCVinland saga is a seinen anime (things targeted for young men), every other anime you guys have watched is Shonen anime (targeted towards teen boys). Thats probably the difference you guys feel but I think Vinland also did start off as a shonen manga before switching.

2023-09-13 04:58:09 +0000 UTCThe shot of Olmar and his brother was great. The prototypical crazy viking and a stereotypical coward yet olmar was the brave one. Olmar knows that once they surrender his family is getting punished but that would stop the slaughter of the villagers. I love Thorgils character and how he was presented. First we see him hes a typical brutish viking, we see him enjoying beating a child with a stick. Then when we get to capital we see that thorgil isnt that stupid and it kinda redeems his character in the aspect that at least hes got some cleverness to him and he isnt just a POS and hes actually stepping up to protect and help his family (or so it seemed). Fast forward to the convo hes having with olmar and even until he says "you honor is the most important thing, even more than your life" and his entire character gets revealed. This guy wasnt saving his brother or family because he loved them, he did it for a fight. Idk if you could call it a reveal even but when thorgil tried to convince olmar to still fight so much shit fell into place for me on his character.
