For your questions (spoiler-free): Yes, Gojo killed the original Geto at the end of JJK0. It wasn't shown but heavily implied with a slicing sound and a cut to black just after Gojo said something to him that we didn't hear. Gojo believed he killed Geto that morning (because he did), so he had no reason to believe his body was still around. There were multiple instances in season 1 of Pseudo-Geto saying things like "I can't let anyone from Jujutsu Tech see my face," because everyone believes he is dead. Mechamaru/Kokichi knowing Geto's body is alive was reason enough for "Geto" to trap him after having Mahito fix him, making sure he did not leave alive - if anyone from Jujutsu Tech (except current first years) hears Geto's name, they will instantly know they're dealing with something way beyond what they've been lead to believe so far. "Geto" not revealing himself until this moment was the cornerstone of their entire plan. A couple fun clues: When Mahito and "Geto" meet up with Kokichi before fixing him, Kokichi calls BOTH of them cursed spirits ("I'm not going to argue with cursed spirits"). We've been lead to believe that only Mahito is a cursed spirit out of those two (because normal people can see "Geto"). When "Geto" waves to Gojo behind the prison realm, he uses his left hand. Geto was right handed..
