It’s not great. I have no issues with story deviations or anything, but the writing / dialogue is super corny, the acting is mediocre at best, and everything just looks so obviously CGI’d. I wanted the show to be good and tried to like it but… sigh

2024-02-29 07:37:47 +0000 UTCI think this has been pretty great. If you don’t let go of some things simply not being exactly like the aninmated series, you probably won’t enjoy this. I’m glad it’s not for beat for beat the same. And you don’t cast Ken Leung and not give him more to do so setting up Zhao here makes a lot of sense. Hope it gets better for you.

2024-02-24 04:54:22 +0000 UTCi've got covid and had nothing else to do, so i ended up watching the whole thing. it's not horrible, but it just didn't really hit well for me. it's better than that movie. there are a few moments i liked and thought added to the original story, however the execution of it just kind of missed. people have been bringing up the acting and line delivery a lot, but personally i think it was more of a directing issue. there are some lines that are delivered well, and others that just make me go "oh? your not going to have him do another take of that?".
