I’m pretty sure the first movie wasn’t released before season 3 even though that’s where it takes place in the timeline of the show- and think they should watch it after season 3. The movies are canon (but I think anime canon is more like it) but the events aren’t in the manga, the mangaka just granted the movies canon status and worked in references to the plot/characters later on in the manga. And even though what happens in them is incidental and not important for understanding and following the main show, the first movie does have the appearance of a certain character complete with OST and I think it’s better for them to experience it first through the show while watching season 3 imo

As to whether or not it’s canon, none of the movies exactly are but they include elements that show up in the show. Hopefully between this and Haikyuu you’re watching the show / movies in release order. The Haikyuu movies and specials are definitely canon.

He may not being doing much now but i think it would be good to remember what he has been doing up til now and what he will be doing 😅 All Might being like a dad in this ep 😭 and this is random but you may see ppl comment this, they say Daichi the captain from Haikyuu came to My Hero Academia to be a detective 🤣
