she keeps making selfish decisions to better her life financially because she never had enough money from a young age from what we have seen so far, so even though she's making the money she wants, in the back of her mind, you can tell she feels guilty for choosing money over "staying loyal" to saeroyi. because of this guilt, she expects saeroyi to hate her and she would very much prefer him to hate her but he keeps telling her she "made the right decision and what she believes is best for her" and that makes her feel even more guilty deep down because she doesn't want to hear that. she wants saeroyi to hate her so the guilt is easier to deal with.

i'm going to try and explain this in a way where i don't spoil anything, but i think it's important to remember that jangga co. offered to pay for sooah's college tuition, rent, and everything basically and she took it. before that, she found out saeroyi's dad paid for her tuition without her knowing and it made her feel guilty bc she wouldn't want to fee indebted to him, so he made her promise to pay him back three fold once she gets a good job and makes the money back (please keep this in mind for the future).
from this information and past events, and how she was working two jobs while still in high school, she's obviously not rich. at a young age, she was basically bribed by jannga co. offering to pay for her college and living costs because "she called the police" to stop saeroyi from killing the chairman's son that night. i put that in quotation marks bc now that she's working for jannga co., she probably feels indebted to the chaiman for paying for her college and stuff and that was his plan from the very beginning, he wasn't actually doing it because she did the good thing calling the police. he wanted her to work for him to get his revenge in a way because she was saeroyi's only friend at the time, if that makes sense? do you notice how she looks like she feels guilty whenever she thinks about saeroyi and how nicely he still treats her? even though you don't understand exactly why she does things she does now, but she's obviously battling with her true feelings vs what she feels she needs to do to survive. yes, some of the things she does is shitty which i'm not excusing, but later on they're going to make a lot more sense.

JANNGA CO. was sponsoring an orphanage in the beginning of the show and they stopped because they wanted to sponsor elderly homes because that was what was "trendy" for companies to do at the time. the orphanage is where saeroyi's dad and and sooah (the girl you don't trust) met because she was volunteering there. maybe you guys mixed that up with the second son being an orphan when he wasn't? also, i'm not 100% if you guys caught on or understood, but the younger brother who was being ostracized by his rich family; i believe (correct me if i'm wrong) his dad cheated on his wife and that's how the younger brother was born and why he was treated that way and called a "mistake". he's the older brother's half brother.

And this one goes out to all the people that said they would hate the show, and that they would be bored. Also, Sae-ro-yi isn't a simp, he's just a nice guy, like he's nice to all his people not just the girl he likes. They even call him 'Ghandi' in the show sometimes. You will soon learn what a simp actually is like - no spoilers, though.
