I had the same experience watching the MV for the first time. I had to watch it so many times for different reasons 😭 But basically, it’s a continuation of Ditto. While Ditto is the parasocial relationship from the fan’s perspective, OMG is from the Idol’s perspective. They have to kinda live for others and serve them with music and content just like a phone. Sometimes you loose yourself in the process. Minji thinks she’s a doctor, Hanni thinks she’s an iPhone, Haerin thinks she’s a cat, and Hyein thinks she’s a princess in a fairytale. Meanwhile, Danielle knows they’re NewJeans, but because no one knows what she’s talking about, she seems out of it as well. There’s also little references in the MV as well. Like Hanni writing the message to and taking a photo of Heesoo (The girl from Ditto), Haerin’s drawings being in Hyein’s fairytale, the book Hyein opens up has a list of the real life fairytales that hers is based off of, etc. I’m glad that the storyline creativity Hybe groups tend to have is also getting passed onto NewJeans. I wasn’t expecting it and it was fun to look into all the therories. It brought me back to the BTS universe 😄
