I'm personally not a huge fan of your ad lib with these two; I think it comes across as obviously adlibbed because there's a sense of one-upmanship. If that's the goal then it works it just breaks the illusion for me personally. Having said that, hello, Patreon! I just subscribed :-D

I actually really liked this episode, I thought the comedy was great and I'm still surprised that it was basically one take, I'd love to see other videos in a non-typical format like this :) Just to elaborate I thought that all the random names and scenarios and even running gags were great, and l know that some people don't like this format even if it is a parody, but I enjoyed it.

Sorry but it really didn't work for me this one. I made it to 5 minutes till I started to drift and check other peoples reactions to make sure I wasn't missing something. I f@cking hate DVD commentaries and even a parody joking one is still boring as hell! Its just my opinion and I'm not telling everyone who enjoyed this that they're wrong. It's just not what i come to the channel to watch sorry. I prefer Dans more spontaneous style.

I found the easter egg!

I really liked the concept, the copyright stuff at the beginning was brilliant. Otherwise I felt the execution was maybe a bit lacking. Ashens was brilliant but the rest of the dialogue felt a bit stunted at times. Definitely wouldn't say it's your best work, not by quite a way. But it was cool, and still looking forward to next week.

I was kind of disappointed by this video, I think the editing was great and I know a lot of work was put into it but I didn't find any of it funny. It kinda felt like it was a chore to watch, the only times I laughed were when the actual commentary video in the background was played instead of the other thing. I really wanna see that actual plays video, and I'm just giving my input, not whining and trying to tell you to change your channel

It's a bittersweet feeling because I loved the old let's plays and I'm going to miss them, but this is an objectively better and more creative creation.

Dan, This video is shear brilliance, everything down to the editing and the accuracy of starting up a DVD with the menus and language select was so well done and is possibly one of my favourite videos you've produced, well done.

I really enjoyed and appreciated the editing in the beginning. The rest of the video fell a bit flat. Somehow you made a "gimmicky" video, where the only real point was to piss off fans of Destiny. This probably worked, but didn't really leave anything good for the non-destiny fans either. The commentary was fine, but didn't really serve a purpose. You just talked about stuff that wasn't relevant at all., and only a little bit of it was funny (IMO). Knowing there was a proper video in the background that I couldn't really watch was just annoying. It felt like watching a movie at the cinema, but everyone in the cinema is talking loudly. I am sure someone will find this video hilarious tho. Ive allready seen people call this the greatest video you have ever made. I personally can't understand that at all tho... Excited to see what other content you will bring in the future

I didn't really like it that much. I think the biggest problem I had with it is that the commentary had not a lot to do with the actual scenes playing out most of the time. It felt more like a podcast about a made up movie than anything else. I enjoyed the easter egg a lot more than the plays :/

As soon as you did the "commentary ON" bit, I was so excited. And you guys delivered. I could feel that it was a one-take, some of the "toss a set up line" bits were obvious, but didn't really matter, that happens way to much on normal commentaries, too. As for the rest, oh, operating at a loss is not fun. May Matt have much success. And major kudos to you, Dan, for forcing yourself to let go of that level of control - relying on people to be better at something than you are is a huge deal, and not everyone gets that it's a good thing to do that. But anyway, as you said, now you're free! It's Matt's problem now!

very mixed feelings about this one actually. I love the idea but I felt like the joke cannibalized itself. Like, it started off as a great parody of lets plays in general and joking about destiny 1 v 2, but it went from that into joking about commentaries in general and lost something. There were a few things that were funny but as it went on there just weren't as many. Note: while i do enjoy destiny, its not because of the gameplay i recognize its shit as a single player experience, but I enjoy playing with my friends so i get where you wouldn't enjoy it as much, and yeah, the animation is bad.

This was one of my favourites on the channel! As I said in the Patreon comments last week, please continue to make weird content and bring me out of the 'Nerd³ comfort zone' which I have been in for the last 4 years. Props to Ashens and Wheezy too, I assumed their parts had actually been written so I was even more impressed when I found out the entire thing was ad libbed.

Hey, I just wanted to put my two cents on this whole situation and video. I didn't like the video, and that's OK. I haven't liked everything you've done in the past and I don't expect to like everything you'll do in the future. I've watched your video since... a very long time, but silently. I'm part of the your community that doesn't say a thing. I never commented a video, I never liked or disliked a video. You're an entertainer to me, I watch you because you entertain me, and to me, that's the whole deal between us. I don't owe you anything and you most certainly not owe me anything. I watch the video, you get payed because I did, end of the business. You're not where you are because of me, I did not made you and you'll never have to thanks me for that as I'll never thank you for entertaining me. However, my taste and yours evolve and they may differ at some point, and once again, that's OK, that's how it should be, everyone should keep evolving. But I must say, after all those years I kinda got a little thing for you. I think you have potential, I think (this may sound selfish) you could entertain me for quite some years, and that's the reason I became a patreon, to show my support, to show "I think you can make it" (and yet again, you don't owe me anything in return). So I understand very well the "I'll make content I enjoy even if my community falls apart because of that (or at least shrink)", and I have no right no tell you that you're wrong. I just wanted to say that at some point in the future, I might delete my patreon account because a part of me belongs to the part of the community you're culling. The part that can take any amount of dick jokes, politics, bush planting, but wants funny videos with "old Dan". OK my comment grew quite big and I'm not sure it'll be interpreted as I wanted, but at least I tried. I felt confused but understood it. Please tell me that your doing Microsoft flight sim or something next week! That sounds like a good video!
