God damn Payday 2 in VR is amazing.
It's miles better than Fallout 4's barebones approach and LA Noire's reduced game attempt. It's the full game, totally in VR, totally for free.
Payday 2 is intense in VR. Like, new levels of intense. Gunning down hundreds of policemen that are RIGHT THERE as the bass drops is everything I ever wanted apparently. Panic stabbing a guy that leaps out at you is seriously terrifying and the first time one of those Sam Fisher bastards turned up I beat it to death with a grenade while crying.
Now here's the extra superb bit. It has working multiplayer, and not just VR to VR. VR to PC. I've played a few rounds with myself on the Vive and Rebecca on her PC and it's just so good. Even when I use the teleport to get around Rebecca was seeing me walk and run around like normal. They've done an excellent job of making both experiences the best they can be.
In more boring praise, the menu systems are really well done, a combination of pointing at giant screens and the interesting stuff popping out to be ogled in VR. Also all the DLC is already compatible, even in this beta stage, so you're not going to lose access to anything you've bought.
In short, Payday 2 is my new VR baseline. Full game, in VR with smart, well thought out controls and systems. For Free. You can't just walk through a locked door like in Fallout 4 VR or only see a fraction of the game like in LA Noire. This is the new one to beat for me.

P.S. Maximum hype for the Vive announcement in two days. Even if it's just a better resolution I am SO DOWN.
