Damn, even a year later Dan's graphics card is still the 5th best on the market

Narmatonia

I’m currently registering to some of the old podcasts. I doubt you’ll come back and see this but hey. In this one you pitch your idea for a clover field tv show. I think you’re pitch is absolutely awesome but I have one request: an episode from the monsters point of view. Because while for these individuals their story lasted ages and was significant, to the monster their entirely insignifiant. It could be a cool way of tying everything together. (Honestly I just kinda wanna see as many shots of monsters destroying things as possible.) :)

Hey Dan, understandable if you would prefer not to talk about this subject, but I value your insight and knowledge on more than just games, so I would like to know what your current worldview is? Do you have hope for the future, do you think the damage being done to political institutions worldwide can be fixed and/or reversed? (Trump, Brexit, Putin, need I go on? Essentially I am curious if you have any particular reason to feel hopeful in this current global climate? I hope that you do Best wishes, Howard Charles Mueller V

Dear god, that magnum joke bent me over sideways and kicked my spine in. Boy am I glad I paid money for that.

"with Steve trying to be a comforting tutor." It's gonna be shouting match from hell. And before anybody goes: "that's the joke!". I'm aware.

Bjorn van Rijszen

I had an idea for a collab with Dadcubed called "Nerdcubed Learns to Drive in VR". But you'd need a steering wheel with a clutch pedal for the most realism. I'm just imagining you sitting on a racetrack in a hatchback with racecars zooming past at the speed of sound, whilst you're trying to shift into first, with Steve trying to be a comforting tutor.

George Farren

Dan it’s been a while since you have been on the going in Raw podcast, so I wanted to know how you felt about the royal rumble, and how you feel about the wwe right now

Alex Bonilla

Dan, There was Doctor Who Airfix for a short time during Series 3: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Airfix-A50006-Doctor-Welcome-Brushes/dp/B0011U5WW4

QuietlyRobyn

Dan, what's the difference between the TomSka video and the Nighthood and Decoy video in terms of being on set. I imagine them being quite different.

Edward Hagreen

Dan do you think AAA Games are going to die thanks to micro transactions or do you think there are enough casual and lazy people that they will still make enough of a profit from it over just selling a decent game?

D&D Lemur

Dan, valentine’s day is coming up. Mind sharing with us some love advice/ anecdotes with us? I just think this would be fun to hear.

Dan, why don't you just use the Microphone that's built into the Vive? There's a wonderful microphone right above your nose on the Vive! It's a little pin hole and its perfectly placed. I get that maybe you don't want to record on your computer as well perhaps, but at the very least try it out while also using the lav mic or something? That way there's backup audio?

Tustin2121

No, his coat have a group captain's rank on the epaulettes.

Douglas Hodgson

Are they using Dan's coat in the tomska video???

Martin Blair

Hey Dan, have you seen the new game called Railway Empire? It's effectively a train line buildy sorta game and would make for a good stream. Also found a VR game coming out this year called Rolling Line where you control a model railway in VR, something I think you and Rebecca would enjoy.

George Perkins

Any tips for someone writing a book about writing book who has never written a book before? (Aiming for a humourus and lighthearted tone, but still for it to be a helpfull book)

Skylos

Fun fact: You can actually own a house in BOTW. Look up the "Hylian Homeowner" quest

Sir Uncle Ned

Saturdays new video: "Nerdcubed's top 10 cinema foods" Next Saturdays new video: "Nerdcubed's worst 10 cinema foods"

Hey, I was wondering how you store all of your lego or any suggestions on how to keep a growing mountain of lego in a small space. I'm struggling.

Stargate podcast? :p

well let's be honest Dan if planet coaster can be the next rollercoaster tycoon and city skylines the next sim city than the orville can be the next star trek

Jordan den Heeten

God damn it Dan, now I have to watch Chris Rock

Harry Jupp

Pages filled with footnotes? Has the spirit of Terry Pratchett possessed you?

Bjorn van Rijszen

Just want to say thank you Dan for these as they help keep me sane for 2-3 days of my week while I get up at 23:30 for work.

Auraharako

In relation to the bit at the beginning, you mentioned Louis CK... do you believe that the negative actions of someone take away from the art they have made? (Louis CK’s comedy, Kevin Spacey’s Baby Driver)

Gabriel Moody

There's a new level in Accounting, will you be playing it?

Kim Clarke

If Dan could stay on topic this would be about 30 minutes. So I'm glad he can't!

Patrick Jackson

About your keyboard, the "Windows Store" key is a lock for your windows key, and the switches on the back are for changing the mode of the keyboard, like changing languages or making it compatible for a BIOS.

Subnautica isn't a Good Survival game, or a good Creative game. That's because that's not what it is supposed to be. What it was created to be is what it's best at, an exploration game. The map isn't procedurally generated, it's all designed to be fun to explore, and because that it doesn't have good replay-ability, and the resource gathering is an engine for exploration, not crafting. Need some Magnitite? Guess you're exploring the jelly caves! I wonder what's in the Jelly caves? The Degassi survivor base! Need some Nickle? Oh shitson it's time to explore the Lost River, Ohshit it's an [REDACTED] [REDACTED] and it'll help you [REDACTED] so you can [REDACTED]. There are still problems with that take on it, I admit, because you rarely interact with anything actually relating to the story which makes it feel like you're just in a walking simulator. There's also a slight problem with the open-ended-ness of the interactions, I kind missed getting the compass so I couldn't find a couple of the life pods till late in the game.

Bloojay

Hey dan just started watching the dadcubed vlogs... you were right they are brilliant.

You should try ''Mark of the ninja.'' It's a 2d platform stealth ninja game and I think it's pretty fun.

Marco te Kortschot

caught up after last week. Loving you skipping even attempting my name. Mwahahahahaha

Diarmaid Ó Braonáin

if your looking scrip writing software id highly recommend trelby script writing it free has in build functions like remembering name writing in action parentheticals dialogue all with proper spacing so you don't have to deal with the bullshit its great

ben

I don't agree on the "time waster" thing. All I do (games, videos, crafts) day in, day out is waste time and make me forget about real life. I can't wait for it to end. Although, time wasters have to be fun. Boring shit I have no time for.

Agrajag

Libre office is better, Dan.

Sandwich247

What did you do for GCSEs?

Douglas Hodgson

Which adblocker should I use?

Douglas Hodgson

Carbide or Apollo?

Douglas Hodgson

I will buy you lego if you come to Carlisle on your (maybe happening) book tour!

Douglas Hodgson

The easter egg in the TomSka video, is it the fact you are reflected in the car window at the end? :D

Matt G

Isnt the sims deluxe basically the sims 1 on PC?

Addison Reilly

Thanks for the massive rant on Roller coaster tycoon! I got the version wrong, of course it was the touch version. Lol at the amount they've raised.

Mr. H.

Ads on YouTube are dangerous for other reasons as well. I once got an ad for a Gay dating app after watching various LGBT videos. And whilst I was not in danger getting that add. Kids who learn about being LGBT, myself included, though the means of internet and YouTube could be outed as such.

Thomas Reeves

Dan! You should play Gigantic on steam its a really underrated third person shooter and the servers are being decommissioned in July. But with all your power you might be able to give the game enough publicity to save it.

Will you ever do a Patreon event in person? A film screening with a Q&A or whatever, but something sneaky and exclusive for us. (Yes I'm selfish, judge me.)

Mike Jones

I was also thinking that playing the VR version of KEEP TALKING AND NOBODY EXPLODES might be quite cool for a stream

Stan Gaskell

I've only tried one set of each, but the revell one I got fitted together far more nicely than the airfix one

Tom Chaney

The footnotes are the best parts of some of my favourite novels. I can't wait

Tom Chaney

DEAR PERSON WHO WANTED FREE SCRIPTWRITING SOFTWARE Celtx works for me. Not totally ideal because it doesnt have all the features, but formatting wise it's totally adequate. Try it.

Stan Gaskell

Hey Dan loving the podcasts! Can't remember if you've talked about this yet but do you often read books? And if you do what genre do you enjoy the most?

Peter Barrett

On Scottish things to do, the camera obscura in Edinburgh is great, but expensive as shit. Dumfries has one that has a lot less to do aside of the obscura itself, but is totally free (and a bit smug about it). Also the Traverse is a fantastic theatre. See something there if you have the opportunity

Tom Chaney

I feel like he might be wearing a horse mask...

Mike Jones

Hi Dan, thanks for another great podcast. Also I know this is probably a one off but thanks for the long podcast. Makes my day easier to get through listening to you ramble on.

My local cinema does sweets and candy floss in rigid plastic tubs so the only noise is when you open it, which you do before the film starts

Tom Chaney

Why do you not use a separate machine for rendering? I feel as though that would be more practical for your application

Chewing_Soup

Very long? I think you mean perfect length. Edit: I regret saying that, can you hurry the hell up so that I can watch your new video on Tracks?

Henry

Dan if you liked breaking bad you should seriously watch the wire. It has the most incredible and realistic dialogue out of anything I have ever seen and it is just goddamn incredible.

I love your idea for a Cloverfield series! (And I haven't even seen any Cloverfield films) And seeing how the Shadow of the Colossus remake is going to be worse than the original, are you interested in Praey for the Gods? It seems like it might be worth keeping an eye on. As for little games that need more recognition: One Shot is a fantastic story/character driven adventure game that you may enjoy.

Dylan Parry

Dan I guess that you either do not like it or you did not know that you can download and watch videos on the amazon video app then you can also watch anything buy on there on any device that has the amazon video app. Also thank you I did not know that you could get the Orville in the UK yet. Also you said that you like ark but it is buggy, I would say to give it another play now that it is out of beta and is a real game. Also thank you Dan you are one of the main reasons that I wanted a switch and now have one, it is one of the best thing I have got in the last year and the best thing I got for Christmas. Also if you have watched any of it what do you think of the super slow show?

Lewis Corby

THERE'S A FUCKING HORSE HEAD IN THE LAST SCENE ON THE TOMSKA VIDEO WTF

CMS creations

Thanks for supporting the RSS feed makes it easier to listen to with my other podcasts.

Michael

My guess is you were the camera-man for the scene where Suzi explodes. There's an odd looking thing in the distorted reflection of one of the car windows which I assume is you with a camera.

George Farren

I love these podcasts so much. Seriously some of my favorite stuff you make lol,

The Lego BB-8 is one of my favorite sets. I love the way its head twists and bobs around.

Aaron Place

Also the Switch version apparently has Steam Workshop support

You should play Uurnog. I haven't played the Uurnlimited version but it is a screw aroundy sandbox puzzle platfotmer by the person who made Knytt that has you stealing random animals, have a war with bombs with a random npc in some guys shop, and you spending 15 minutes watching an incomprehensible conversation between two squares. https://youtu.be/4CZDoWa5FJA

The Cloverfield Paradox felt like Douglas Reynholm sent Roy into space because he is a 'Computer Man'

Trenton

Besides the sketch you starred in (which was fantastic), which is your favourite TomSka sketch?

Black mirror new session episode 1. Thought?? And don't skip over this question again please.

Dan, what is your favorite city in the UK, and why is it Edinburgh?

Well Read Nomad

Damn, you got me really excited for a TV Show that doesn't exist

Aaron Place

Do you ever go back and look at your own videos? If so, which one do you regard as your best work/ favorite?

Since Dadcubed changed to the weekly vlogs, have they been getting demonetised like his old videos or are they now actually making any money

Bradley Morgan

Have you ever heard of the YouTube channel Jordan Underneath? It started off as a bog-standard game review channel, and then suddenly turned left into utterly bizarre, surreal horror puppet films with existential themes. And you thought YOUR reboots changed things up.

If they are using Adobe, you can use it on both macOS and Windows at the same time! (Plus it is super affordable with the student pack)

Wren Beith

YouTube red is in six countries at the moment US, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. And at the moment it seems like Google are rebranding YouTube red and Google Play music all access into one service for a wider launch that the rumours say may be march time. Also with your Google play TV purchases you can just watch them through YouTube, they appear in the purchases tab on the sidebar and that includes YouTube TV apps on consoles and that

Shawn Lindsay

The Stella is lovely! The balcony seating is ridiculously comfortable...

Mia Rolfe

Dan, this is honestly a great idea for a tv show and I’d love to see this produced and would genuinely watch this. P.S keep up the good work

Yay! \o/ My mum only eats the crunchiest of crisps. Silly doritos.

Sandwich247

For the VR video, I know it'd be a cardinal sin but couldn't you just redub the things you say in post? It's still your genuine lines, the reactions just be sliiiightly less realistic sounding.

Isla Edmond

If you’re ever in Dublin you should go to the Stella Cinema in Rathmines, you can book an armchair, sofa or bed.

Boiler repair man Stan again - TWO QUESTIONS WOW! 1. Do you still play minecraft? I just rediscovered it after 3 years and im playing it in my relaxing music/podcast/stand up slot and loving it. 2. I'm interested as to what your workflow is - is it structured, or do you go by feeling? How long do you work? TELL ME THINGS.

Stan Gaskell

Cinema sweet, strawberry dreams.

James Barber

Can we have a video of you editing? I think it would be interesting to watch how fast you are.

James Barber

ME want to seeeeeeee the set up

1st_batman

Yes! Set it up today. If you go to my main Patreon page there will be a little RSS link for you! (Well every supporter, not just you. That would be weird.)

Nerd³

the tomska video was awesome !

Have you ever checked out Door Monster before? They've made some of my absolute favorite skits on YouTube, I'd absolutely recommend you give them a shot.

What do you prefer editing on macs or windows?? As my friend is trying to get in to film making but he doesn’t know if he should by the software on his Mac or pc as it is a lot of money

Dan, I would like to know if you have or are interested in playing the new Monster Hunter game, it's called Monster Hunter world and I think it's fantastic and would like to know your opinions.

Is there an RSS feed for these podcasts?
