IMPORTANT ALERT FOR ANNUAL PATREONS

Hello! Matt here - THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CURRENT ANNUAL PATREONS

It's been brought to our attention that Patreon itself has made a severe and problematic oversight with annual memberships.

As it stands, it's impossible to move from an annual membership to a monthly membership. Which by extension means anyone with an annual patronage is locked out of moving over to any of the new tiers.

We've only now found out about this because Patreon only make this information known and obvious to Patreons, and not to Creators. If I'd have known about that last month this probably wouldn't have been an issue.

I've sent anyone with an annual subscription a message - although Patreon's backend doesn't actually allow me to filter people who've got annual memberships, so if you've been missed please send us a message.

I've found a partial solution in that, I can manually refund the remainder of a person's yearly pledge back to them, which also means their pledge is cancelled at the end of the month allowing you to rejoin on a monthly tier. (UPDATE: Patreon only lets me process refunds from our Patreon balance, and since we've just been automatically paid from it said balance is empty, meaning I can't process any refunds)

I appreciate this isn't a good solution, and I myself am very angry that Patreon has set itself up like that. I'd ask that people with annual memberships send an email to Patreon support expressing their frustration at this frankly terrible policy decision by them. I am also sending them a strongly worded email.

I want to make sure people don't miss out - so if you're an annual backer then please send us a message, or reply to the one I've sent if you haven't already.
