I don’t know if I should be excited or disappointed that I guessed it was a bag of flat transparent 2 by 1 tiles

Jack McCarthy

Listening to Rebecca get annoyed about the guy lying about NZ made me giggle

Rachel Potter

Cozy game? Something like Unpacking, that tells a story subtly, has a puzzle element and is a whole damn cuddle of a game :-) I do kinda hope that you don't entirely abandon making vids, I have loved watching your vids since your Minecraft buildy days, and I'm presently rewatching a bunch of stuff you made Dan ;-) I struggle with Livestreams with my fibro, paying attention for so long drains me loads. But you have to do what makes you happy (Both of you!), or what's the point? :-) Have you considered getting together a group of gaming creators and making the equivalent of Nebula? You know, get together people who are decent, semi-mature :-p, and generally fun, the type who are not gonna go off on fascist rants, mess with dead people etc ;-) I'd happily sign up to such a service, and I expect a lot of others would too. Just a thought ;-) Be happy both, and love to all your animals :-D

🤣🤣 waiting lists, I waited half my life for a autism diagnosis (I was only 18 at the time but 9 years is still long) just to be told I’m too old to get support from the nhs

Scrublord321

Loved this podcast as always! Love to Daniel, Rebecca, Matt and the animals. Good luck for everything that you all do in the future. Exciting times ahead! ❤️

Up until last year I was sure I was Autistic, I was withdrawn, horrible at communicating, and just generally unwilling to interact with other people. Turns out it was depression caused by not admitting to myself that I was trans for decades. After accidentally coming out to myself while talking to a friend, it just kept going and now getting treatment for 10 months and starting transitioning I just can't believe that I'm really the same person I used to be. But hearing Rebecca describe these tests it really feels like I didn't know what Autism was really all about! Being depressed and mopey my entire adult life was no help in figuring myself out! Hope all these tests lead to a better life and understanding of themself!

I agree who doesn't like a good train!?

Ah damn you're better than me, I'm self-taught and freelance software engineer, making apps and websites atm but hoping to move into smart home consultancy and installation, cus why not.

NeonCoding

I got my degree in video games development in October and I'm working in online gambling games currently ::p

Will ''The Button King'' Harding

Ooh! Ooh! Me too! (I'm more software than games as of recent, are you specialised in games or more general software?)

NeonCoding

Another resident autist here, it's really interesting to hear parts that are identical to me, and other parts that are completely different in nature to me - my diagnosis was originally Asperger's derivative but obviously since that's different now, I have little to basis further research off of - I mainly got mine as I have wide ranging mood disorder symptoms, bipolar based, depressive based, schizophrenia based, and then I went to a doctor and went "oh yeah that sounds like autism" and suddenly it all made sense. I've not felt the need to dive too deep into it, since I've managed to find ways to resolve my communication issues (I can't do a public service interaction (talking to a shop assistant, talking to a librarian etc., so I watch someone else do it, and copy their mannerisms and their words pretty closely.) But anyway, happy legoing and writing and assessing and gamemaking.

NeonCoding

I feel you with the eye contact thing, even I've noticed myself how rarely I look someone in the eye

Narmatonia

I'm mainly here for the podcasts (primarily this and PodCats), but the video game thing sounds rad.

Cédrick

Dan, could we get some more Shadows of Doubt streams? I absolutely loved watching you play that.

Well Read Nomad

throwing in a suggestion for game engines to play around in n' stuff: Itch.io is always good for that eg GB studio where you make Gameboy style games! here: https://www.gbstudio.dev/ and Microstudio https://microstudio.itch.io/microstudio (free, can be used offline has sprite editor n' such) there's many other free ones on itch that could be neat for you's when making games

Nathan (Mxter_Chestnut)

So making game, huh? If you ever need a new programmer, hit me up lol. Can't wait to see what you both come up with!

Will ''The Button King'' Harding

As someone from Hamburg (where the model train thingy that is literally called “Miniature Wonderland” is located) the mention of it was A) the last thing I expected on this podcast somehow and B) made me do a very Nick Offermanian giggle. Also, that places rules, trains are the best, being a giant is also fun af. Buuuutttt it can get rather crowded in there, just something to be aware of 😁

Jan-Philipp Voss

Videogame with Dan's writing and Rebecca's art sounds fucking amazing

POM

I joined because of the yt videos but I now just stay for the podcasts \ podcats. I will miss the videos since many are still my go-to pick me up's after a bad day but I can't wait to see what you make game wise ^^

Not listened to one of these in a couple years maybe but it's super cool to hear that you're finishing the book 👀👀👀 And from an autistic nonbinary person, best of luck with Rebecca and their autism diagnosis!!! If they've not seen so already, could I ask them to maybe look at the wonderful comic compilation "Sensory: On the Spectrum" made entirely by autistic creators and collated/managed by the fantastic comic artist Bex "Schnumn" Ollerton 👀 It's got stuff on advocacy and it's super queer and it's great I love that your parents have been supporting you with this because of my goodness my parents absolutely refuse to even consider that they "made me wrong" in their eyes It's wonderful that you've got a really good support network Trains are fantastic I absolutely agree 😌 The only bad parts of trains are the loud people on the train I would go on big long 6-8 hour train journeys because my dad got us free travel while we were minors because he worked in British Rail I can go all kinds of places if I'm going on the train I love the train I'm absolutely with Rebecca with everything by the way It's the allistics who are wrong and weird about things

Sandwich247

But yes definitely here just for you two, would love to see games, we'll support you whatever you do!

ZeroFaded

Congratulations on the impending autism diagnosis, Rebecca 😂 yours truly, an autistic person. (Also a lot of people prefer the wording of, an autistic person, rather than a person with autism, since we don't *have* autism, we are autistic 💖)

ZeroFaded

I love going on trains, but I have autism

Trains are great! When they're running on time...

Bjorn van Rijszen

A yes. Tories on a train. The much more horrific sequel to Snakes on a plane

Semicolons are for when you could use a comma or a full stop, so instead you just use both.
