[WIP & Update] Trying out black and white manga format again for parts of the main story
Added 2023-06-01 19:58:35 +0000 UTCI recently had an urge to try my hands at black and white manga art style again which I found very difficult to handle in the past due to my lack of shading skill.
This time it has actually been quite enjoyable. I still need to get familiar with greyscale value and screentones but I think once I have some presets prepared I can work much faster. And the storybook format we discussed in earlier post might be replaced with this monochrome manga instead, while still doing some important pages or episodes in full color.
Here are some panels from the test comic I'm working on which is a short scene from Boone's iconic "One For My Baby" quest. It should be done in a few days. I'm really excited to show you guys, but also a bit nervous with this new style. Hopefully I can pull it off.

I appreciate this a lot. Thank you so much. TvT π I think Iβm mostly nervous because Iβve been relying on colors to convey emotions. But Iβm also excited to improve my monotone shading skill~

2023-06-01 21:06:06 +0000 UTCI think that sometimes changing the graphic style can have a powerful effect. If you manage to get it right (thing that you already do), it helps elevate the art. How am I confident ? You already proved it when you made some of your comics without speech bubble. You keep experementing, and I really hope that you take pleasure by doing it.
