I have to agree with Tyranth on this one. I disagree with the strength-I believe it is D&D that rates dwarves at much greater strength than normal humans. This makes sense if you (as I do) consider dwarves humanoid badgers. On the practical side, if you want them to be viable in combat against humans they have to have SOME kind of advantage or the fight isn't a fight it's just agreed upon murder. Best sword? Shad I love swords too, but come on. Dwarves need reach to deal with a world of larger opponents. With so much strength and craftsmanship available they should make short two hundred pound war bows. And use spears as their first melee weapon and axe and shield when things get close enough.

2025-06-13 22:41:47 +0000 UTCI can't agree with dwarves having only normal human strength. Any depiction I've encountered, dwarves have EXTRAORDINARY strength. Normal strength leaves them just targets in open battle and leaves their only role as ambush personnel.
